As a transplanted New Yorker, I attended UMKC and graduated with a BA in chemistry in 1975. I moved north to attend medical school at the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Midwestern University. I returned to Kansas City to train in obstetrics and gynecology at Truman Medical Centers. After 13-1/2 years in private practice, I again returned to Truman Medical Center-Lakewood in 1998 as Director of Obstetrical and Gynecological Services in the Community and Family Medicine residency program. Additionally, I am associate chairman of the UMKC SOM Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
I am married with four children, ages 17-27. My wife, Kim, is an RN, CPC and runs a clinical coding business from our home. In my spare time, I enjoy my Matamata Turtles, woodworking
(very amateur) and shotgun clay sports.
