Medical Degree: Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences
Residency: University of Missouri - Kansas City

I grew up in Pennsylvania and came to Missouri 25 years ago to attend medical school.
My plan was to get done and get back East! Little did I know I would marry a Kansas boy and never leave. My husband, Charles Orth, DO and our two boys have lived in Lee’s Summit for 15 years.
I completed my residency at TMC-East (now TMC-Lakewood). I wonder if the “East” thing has something to do with why I can’t seem to leave this place. We have a tremendous faculty here,
with such a wide range of experiences and expertise, and I still learn from them daily.
I work part-time and spend a large part of that time seeing my own patients in our faculty practice.
I think it helps to have that ongoing experience when I am staffing residents in their continuity clinics. Our residents also spend a month with my husband on their orthopedic rotation and he enjoys that interaction very much.

In my free time, I guess you can say I am a bit of a fitness nut. I enjoy running, biking and kayaking.
I also love to cook (healthy foods), and enjoy a good glass of wine. Reading, playing piano (although I’m still learning), and spending time with my family round out the rest of my time. My husband and I are both strong supporters of the Autism community in the KC metro area and spend time volunteering in various ways to support families and children affected by this disorder.
