Work Hours/On-Call Duty - We recognize that long work hours and excessive on-call
responsibilities are not conducive to an optimal educational environment
nor quality patient care. On average, clinical rotations are 70 hours per week. RES I rotations
require call one - two times per week. RES II and III residents can expect to work hours similar to
faculty.

Call Rooms - Private, comfortable and secure call rooms inside the hospital are
available for overnight duty.
Clinic - Family Medicine Clinic is in the same building in the main training hospital.

Educational Conference / Vacation -
Residents have 21 vacation days per year. RES II and III residents
receive one additional week annually for special educational conferences,
and a yearly CME & PDA allowance of $1,000.
Yearly retreat at Exceptional resort ($250 value).
MO AFP Summer Scientific Convention and Fall Convention ($400 value),
meals extra.
SMA Practice Management Course for all RES III ($600 value)
Fees Paid - Membership to AAFP, AOA (matched), MO AFP, KC AFP and
the SMA. USMLE / COMLEX Pt III Exam ($600 value)
Temporary MO License, Permanent BNDD, BLS, ACLS, ALSO, NRP, PALS ($1,600 value)
Meals/Parking - On call meals and Daily Noon Conference lunch are provided free of
charge to residents.
Free parking is provided.
Montessori School -
One of a few Montessori programs fully accredited by the Missouri Department of Education as an elementary school, with up to 3rd grade. Very reasonable prices with discount for residents and employees while your kids are learning down the hall. Contact: 816-404-7916.
Resident Center -
Provides a place for residents to meet, relax, study, exercise or watch TV.
Resident / Faculty Recruitment - Our residents are integral to the recruitment and selection of each
incoming class. Resident participation is also crucial in the interviewing
and selection of potential faculty.
